Today, we offer just a quick idea: a different point of view. Try writing a story from the point of view of one of your pets. If you don’t have a pet, then you can imagine one. In fact, if you don’t have a pet, you can imagine any animal you like.
Our pets know us well. They may not understand what we say to them, but they notice what we do and how we feel. They make sense of us for themselves, based on our actions, our voices and maybe how we smell. They have their own points of view. A gerbil in a cage has a different view from a cat, both literally and metaphorically. A cat’s view of its human owners is likely to be different from a dog’s view.
Tell a story of your family, or an invented family, from the point of view of a family pet.
